Not all interior designers are created equally. As with any profession, there are some designers who choose to take part in continuing education in order to enrich and enhance their skills. Through independent certification organizations, such as the National Kitchen & Bath Association, these designers are then able to achieve certification in areas of expertise.

For 5 years, I have been proud to be a Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD.) What does this mean? As a CKD I’m able to offer my clients a high-level of expertise that is verified via my certification. You wouldn’t want an untrained mechanic working on your car, would you? I believe the same standards should be applied to interior design.  In essence, the distinction of my CKD certification is a guarantee that clients of Debbie Costa Interiors are receiving professional, reliable services.

When is the Best Time to Hire a Designer?

Take a moment to think about what makes your house a home. The bare walls and empty spaces that you found upon first moving in were blank and cold. However, as your furnishings arrived, family photos began to adorn the walls and the right lighting filled a room, your house became a place where you felt comfortable.

Hiring an interior designer sounds like a great idea, but many people have no idea where to start. Prospective clients often ask, “When is the best time to hire an interior designer?” The answer, simply put, is sooner rather than later!
