about Debbie Costa

According to interior designer Debbie Costa, quality of life and happiness go hand in hand with a well-designed home. “If you are comfortable and happy in your home environment, then you will be better equipped to face life’s challenges.”

From an early age, Debbie has been highly motivated and energetic about her life as an interior designer.  After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.A. in Interior Design and Art History, she went on to teach Design classes at the University and joined an up-and-coming design firm focusing on hotels and resorts. After 8 years in Reno she moved to Northern California and joined a firm that focused on medical and dental offices as well as high-end residences from Japan to Northern California.

Debbie’s concerns for the environment have led her to include within many of her projects eco-sensitive products and finishes such as bamboo and cork flooring, recycled glass counters, natural textiles and energy-efficient LED lighting used in conjunction with plenty of natural lighting.

In 2000, Debbie founded Debbie Costa Interiors and has been working on residential remodels, new construction, renovations, restaurants and retail spaces. Costa is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers and the National Kitchen and Bath Association.  Debbie Costa, in association with a local Remodeling Contractor, has won awards in Whole House Remodels and Master Bathroom Remodels from NARI (National Association of Remodelers Inc.)

Debbie’s approach is Real Design for Real People. Within her designs she tells the story of her clients rather than her own, reflecting their values, styles and tastes.  Debbie takes pride in her ability to create value for her clients and her ability to deliver a beautiful end product on time and on budget, causing them to believe they were her only client.

This personal attention is what defines Debbie Costa and Real Design for Real People.
